Ashgabat 2017 launches its Sport Competition schedule for 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games
The 5th AIMAG Executive Committee has today launched the Sport Competition schedule for the upcoming 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in September with 12 days of competition across 21 sports.
Ashgabat 2017 kicks off on 16 September with Futsal and Indoor Tennis which are scheduled for 10 days and 11 days of competition respectively. Sports making an appearance for the first time at an AIMAG include Equestrian Jumping and Traditional Wrestling.
Chairman of the 5th AIMAG Executive Committee, Dayanch Gulgeldiyev said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the best athletes from across Asia and Oceania to compete in our world class venues. With 21 sports and up to 337 medal events taking place there are excellent chances for athletes from all participating countries to be in contention for medals.”
With 160 sessions, spectators will be able to watch the best athletes from Asia and Oceania, including recent Rio 2016 Olympians, competing in Wrestling, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Track Cycling and Equestrian Jumping.
